Day 1 - Afternoon

After visiting the randomly-generated location (see Page 1), the following photographs, video and sound were captured in order to investigate and record the location.

Edited video capture (attempted to enlarge the video to 1:5 ratio and speed up to 3x, however when uploaded to Flickr, the video appears magenta and slim in its appearance)

I edited this video in order to perhaps identify an aspect in the video that I had previously missed. In reflection of the actual results of the video edit, perhaps isolating certain colours in the video can help me adequately assess the surrounds in accordance to their colour modes. Also, I have discovered that as an audience member, viewing this video capture in its isolated colour modes may induce certain emotions - therefore removing the focus from the content of the video itself to the audience member's reaction to the viewing.

Robert Plutchik's 'Wheel of Emotions' - describes the relations among emotion concepts, which are analogous to the colours on a colour wheel

A key thinker in colour psychology is Carl Jung. He encouraged his patients to use color because he felt this would help them express some of the deeper parts of their psyche. Jung was a key proponent of art therapy.

I have combined these two theories - by applying the colours on the wheel to the emotions that are inscribed on the colours, I have linked these two theories to suggest that colour informs emotion.

By applying these theories - corresponding to Plutchik's wheel, my video induces emotions of "aggressiveness", varying from annoyance, anger and rage.

Responding to this discovery, I have further experimented with the notion of colour-mood theory and have edited the original video capture into different colour modes.

Orange - "optimism"

Blue - "disapproval"

Green - hue between "love" and "submission"
